Books and books again....

I have tried....my goodness I did try so very hard to resist the temptation. I can never and will never have the will not to buy another book. Because it is my blood. I still have like tonnes of book that I haven't read yet.
That is why the only way of not buying book is by not going into a bookstore. It is like an addiction for me.
The feeling of looking at the row of books infront of me everytime I went to bed is beyond explanation.
Have I gone mad or what?

Below is my latest acquisition. It feels so darn good when I have these books in my hand.

Love's Secret by William Blake

Never seek to tell thy love,

Love that never told can be;

For the gentle wind does move

Silently, invisibly.

Checklist

As I'm going through my work for the day, I could not help myself from thinking on what I could do differently in order to make me lose weight healthily. I need to have a checklist on what I need to do. Hence I've come out with one.

1. Plan my meal
2. Plan my exercise schedule
3. Find low calories recipes
4. Have a weight goal.
5. Execute

Well, I guess that has covered all. Dear oh dear... I hope that I can do this.

Erk...Fat!!!

I was coming out from a conference room when one of my colleague said the most scared statement by most of the female population, "Dear, you are fat!!!". And I can vouched that the percentage of the female population that would be dreading such news would be like 99.99% . I mean, how many out there actually, does not really care how they look like. Even the guys now are into 3 steps cleansing routine which donkey years ago were only care by us female population. This is because they want to look good. We all want to look good and healthy. And people always relate healthy to being fit physically. And right now I'm not physically fit because I'm fat. And what my colleague said, is actually make sense because my pants are all tight.
When I looked back throughout the previous months, I realised that I have stopped exercising completely. Not even 10 min exercise at home or walking around the lake at all. But the only thing that keep on going is my eating habit which has grown stronger. From sandwiches and salmon steak, now I've changed to nasi biryani with chicken or fried rice and this is habit is like daily consuming. I need to do something!!!

Craving of the day

Normally if I had chocolate, I will be having this terrible headache.
But today, it turn out differently. I cannot stop thinking about the chocolate.
It's like an addiction to me. Since my workplace is like in the middle of nowhere and I couldn't get a decent choco shop nearby hence I have to make do with whatever I can find. And the best place I could find is a 7 Eleven. Yeah!!!! thats the best I could find and it is just 7.30am. I grabbed a packet of Krispy Chocolote and I remember I have few packets of Milo in the office.
Yup, these are my indulgence of the day and thank goodness, it's the best I could find because I couldn't phantom how I would turn out to be if I were to find those chocolate that actually sells those fancy ones.

Food

I have been eating non stop during those 4 days last week. From toast bun, mee siam, nasi lemak with fried egg, nasi biryani with yummy acar buah and udang galah.....It was totally food heaven.
And now my pants are all tight...yikes!!!!
Home cooked meal is good and healthy as there is no MSG involved but I need to juggle my time between preparing the kids for school, house chores and preparing my own food. Time consuming but satisfying.
I missed having O'brien sandwiches. Need to get it this weekend.
This is my breakfast for today, 2 oranges and coffee with creamer. And this coffee sucks!!!

CNY Holiday

It's the end of the long holiday....4 days in a row without taking any AL. :)

Had my favourite Cham Ice, toast bun and Mee Siam....heaven!!!
Then movie for us.

Tea Time Up in the Highland

We went for a vacation up in the highland in Dec and we haven't been there for years. The last time we went there is when the kids are just 2 or 3 years old. So many things have changed and new resorts have been built. Still the environment remain the same.
I browse through the internet for good eating spot then I saw this cosy eatery called The Cameronian Inn. It has nice room for rent and it offers some nice food for tea as well. But the one that attracted me the most would be the scones. It has excellent review by all the visitors.
The scones are homemade and freshly baked for the guest. And the strawberry jam is also homemade, not too sweet and not to jelly like. It was like reliving my tea moment when I was in Folkstone, England. Each bite brings back the memory and I do miss the times when I was there.

Apart from scones, other food they serve is also excellent. My family is having french toast and steamy crunchy fries.

The french toast is not too eggy and not oily. It is served warm and nice with maple syrup on the cold windy afternoon.

I go for Earl Gray with lemon and honey, my favourite afternoon tea and the rest are having hot chocolate, fresh strawberry juice and ice lemon tea. Why would anyone go for icy drinks on a cold and windy day, only my son would be able to answer that....heheheheh.
Overall, it is an excellent tea time experience and I would love to go there for another scone time if I happen to be in the highland again.

Sofa

Just last couple of weeks, my sofas have been infested by bugs. And I thought by living in an apartment I will not be having this problem. I even can't remember to be having this problem when I was young. Nor when I was staying in a rented house during my university years. The frustration is beyond imagination. I tried, believe me  I did tried to fight it. But it is still there. Making a colony of their own in my sofas. Well, I might sound a bit melodramatic but that's how I am.
Until one day I was down with flu and one night I'm having difficulties in breathing. I went to see a doctor and he said this is due to allergies and he started asking me asking whether I'm allergic to anything. Never have been and hope won't be in future. Cause we will never know, with all this modern engineered food that we have been consuming nowadays, we might be having allergies that we ourselves do not know of.
Well to cut the story short, I went back home after getting jab to reduce the allergy because I couldn't breathe. Took a nap for 1/2 hour then I called up a mover and got rid of the sofas.
And by evening, it's gone!! My lovely dark brown velvety sofas are gone together with the bugs!!

Predict or not to predict!!

Heard about the shocking news. Not sure how to react. Sometimes, we thought we have done the best we could. We thought we are on the right path, we follow right way until one fine day,  lightning struck and it left us in awe. Life is never predictable. Or maybe we shouldn't be predicting matters are out of our hand.
Just for the best and pray it will turn out good.
